THE East Sussex Arts Club watched a demonstration by the artist Nick Englefield, in acrylics, of a stormy sky over a landscape, on Saturday, April 5, which encouraged members to want to try this for themselves.
The competition entitled 'Rivers and estuaries', was won by Mary Ludwig.

The next meeting will be on Saturday, May 10, from 2pm to 4.15pm at St John's Church Hall, Brittany Road, St Leonards.
Jillian Eldridge will demonstrate portraits in oils and the competition theme will be 'Blooming Loverly'. All members are invited to submit an entry in any medium.

The East Sussex Arts Club is holding its exhibition of paintings at the White Rock Theatre from Friday, May 2, for the whole of May.

There will be a launch party on Friday, May 2 at 7pm till 9pm. All are welcome. Members may enter up to five paintings in the exhibition.

Anyone wishing to join may do so at the meeting or telephone membership secretary Mrs Betty Muffitt on 01424 434492.
