JULY was planned to be the meeting of the outing but because of problems with transport the outing will be the August meeting. The July meeting was opened by president Jean Watson who welcomed an almost full compliment of members and one visitor.
The minutes from the June meeting were agreed and Jean read various pieces received from E.S.F.W.I and N.F.W.I.
Member Janette Ireland has invited members to a coffee morning at her home on August 23 to raise funds for Landgate W.I.

r Christine Bennett was asked to read her report. This month was the last chance for members to order diaries and calendars. Also news from national headquarters concerning next year's subscription to W.I. This will be raised to £29.
Jean read a letter from Win Simmonds thanking members for their flowers and good wishes on her recent wedding anniversary and for attending the celebrations. It was much appreciated. Three birthdays this month, Audrey Harborough, Daphne Godwin and Pat Carter all receive a posy and a card from Kathy Hodges.
After the break for refreshments and drawing of the raffle members indulged in a memory game in which photographs, taken from newspaper cuttings, of members of Parliament as they were in their younger days. Members scratched their heads trying to put names to faces. There were 16 to remember and the winner was Janette Ireland who managed to get 12 right. The average was about nine but it was good fun.
As the meeting came to a close the competition winner was announced and once again it was Janette Ireland with a delightful china model of a train. Jean Watson came second and third place was shared between Grace McCarthy and Kathy Hodges.
Members left in high spirits looking forward to the outing next month.
