THE president of the Rotary Club of Senlac, Pat Connor, met workers at Friary Gardeners during a visit.
Friary Gardeners will be one of the main charities to benefit from the Classic Car Show which will be held by the club on Sunday, July 6.

The organiser of the show, Roger Young, said: "I think we were all touched by the plight of the gardeners two years ago when it looked as though development might rob them of their site.

"Members of Senlac remembered their spirited fight for survival and were unanimous in choosing them as one of the charities to share in the proceeds of the show."

The president has met headteacher Jean Mockford, support staff and pupils at Torfield School, Hastings, which will also benefit from this year's show.

Now in its sixteenth year, Senlac Rotary Club's Classic Car Show has raised over £60,000 for local charities.

Further information about the show can be obtained by telephoning 01424461443.
