THE last two meetings of the Rye Creative Stitchers were very contrasting.
In March Barabara Walters came and showed how nature influenced her beautiful embroidery designs, and brought some of her completed work and sketch books.

Members of the Rye Creative Stitchers have a competition later in the year entitled 'Inspired by Nature' and it is hoped that this talk will indeed inspire members!

Then in April, Lee Ault spoke about garments worn during Rites of Passage - birth, marriage and death.

She had a wooden chest from which she produced both clothes and accessories, with the most fantastic hand sewing and embroidery. It was very noticeable how small the clothes were!

This is the fourth time that Lee has been to our group and we all hope that she has more talks to give as she has a wealth of information and also examples.

The next meeting is on Thursday, May 1, and this will be a practical meeting when members can make, or if they prefer watch, fabric postcards, and should be fun!

The meeting will start at 7.30pm in the usual meeting place, Rye Baptist Hall, and anyone interested in textiles will be made most welcome.
