THIS month was our AGM. The officers were re-elected en bloc. Pat Hartley as Chairman, Sylvia Archer as Secretary and Nikki Lawson as Treasurer.
This was followed by a short Thinking Day Ceremony and the lighting of candles for the four World Centres. Visits to these centres by members of the Trefoil Guild are leading up to the centenary of Guiding in 2010.
Sylvia and Pat have already visited 'Our Cabana' in Mexico and with Betty 'Our Chalet' in Switzerland, and they will both shortly be revisiting 'Sangam' in India, and it is hoped in 2010 we will all be able to visit 'Pax Lodge' in London.
Guide Thinking Day worldwide this year is concentrated on the global problem of AIDS and HIV especially in young people. We finished the evening off with a discussion on this subject, followed by a short reading by Chris Emson.
