PRESIDENT Pat Mohamed welcomed 28 members including a 'new member' Christine Syms. Jerusalem was sung and the minutes read. This being our Strawberry Tea afternoon, business was kept to the minimum.
Joyce Avard was presented with a bouquet of flowers for her 80th birthday and members were reminded of the outing to Knole House on the 25th of the month, the coach to pick up at Geary Place at 10.30am.
Members were invited to a garden party at Brede WI on June 28 at 3pm which will be in aid of local charities, also two members have been invited to attend the garden party at Sedlescombe on July 16.
Our ladies have been knitting for premature babies and Pat suggested that the finished items should be brought for other members to see.
The quiz of Sussex place names was followed by several games of charades, which caused much amusement.
The Strawberry Tea was, as usual, with scones, jam and cream and rounded off with a bowl of strawberries and cream and cups of tea.
Colleen Morgan won the competition, a cream jug, the raffle was drawn and the meeting closed at 4pm another enjoyable afternoon.
