The Iden and District Natural History Society has the first meeting of the year this evening in the village hall at 7.30 pm. Mr. Phil Jones will speak about Papua New Guinea. Visitors are asked to pay an entrance fee of £3.

Iden Parish Council has postponed the meeting until Tuesday 22nd January at 7.30 pm in the village hall.

Iden Church cleaning team is in need of one or two more helpers. If anyone is willing to spare one to 1.5 hours about 6 times a year, it would be greatly appreciated.

Transition Rye will be holding a Recycle Swap Shop on Saturday 19th January from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm in the St. Mary’s Centre, Lion Street. The fun of this is that it is all FREE. You take along anything you no longer want or need, hand it to the organisers and then go to have a look around. If there is anything which takes your fancy, you can take it . FREE. You could make a donation if you wished. Tea and coffee will be available. But no electrical items or large furniture please.

Iden Bowls Club will be holding a massive Jumble Sale on Saturday 2nd February. Carol is collecting already, so if you have anything to donate, call her on 280 464. No electrical items please.

The mid-week services continue in church as usual on Wednesday at 9.30 am for Morning Prayer and 3.30 pm for Evening Prayer.

The 9.30 am service for the Baptism of Jesus will be Parish Communion led by the Vicar.
