Rotary helps cyclone victims
THE LOCAL Rotary clubs have joined the drive to raise funds to send shelter boxes to the ravaged Delta Area of Burma.
Four hundred ShelterBoxes, each containing a tent, blankets, a multi-fuelled stove, a water purification kit, tools and other necessities to help a family of 10 survive for six months, have been delivered to cyclone victims and another 1,000 boxes were sent on May 14.
Incoming Rotary District Governor John Wilton said, "Rotary has the ability to deliver to those most in need because we have teams on the ground who are able to work with local groups to line up transportation and determine where the shelters will do the most good amid the massive devastation."
If you are able to help any cash donations can be sent to Rotarian John Wilton, 14 Wenthill Close, East Dean, BN20 0HT. Cheques should be made payable to Rotary District 1120.
