CRIMINAL damage and antisocial behaviour were the main priorities of a meeting on crime reduction and safety hosted by Eastbourne Community Network and the Devonshire Neighbourhood Action Group.

The meeting was for those living and working in the Devonshire ward to share their views.
They heard from Chief Inspector Dick Coates of Sussex Police and Neil Fuller, director of housing, health and community services at Eastbourne Borough Counc
il, who spoke on what is being done to tackle crime.
Mr Fuller said, "As a partnership we have had major recent success in reducing crime. We are not complacent however. We know we can only achieve continued success with the support of all sections of our community.
"At the same time, we need their help alongside that of key voluntary sector partners to develop plans to prevent crime in the future as well as tackle the fear of crime. Having the chance to explain our activities and seek the input of local people is key to getting them right and helping to make Eastbourne and even safer place to live, work and visit."
Eastbourne Community Network gives community and voluntary groups a voice on planning and decision-making and Devonshire Neighbourhood Action Group aims to improve the quality of life in the Devonshire ward.
