Adam Clarke underlined his superb season with a fine bronze in the South of England Championships at Watford.
The Hastings AC runner got amongst the medals in the 5,000m after clocking a time of 15.31.43.
A clutch of club athletes was also on duty at the weekend for Sussex Schools in the South East of England Inter-Counties Championships.
Louisa James won the A string hammer with a throw of 44.88m and Lisa Normoyle (27.58m) claimed third in the inter-girls' discus.
On the track, Ross Skelton (9.19.4) was second in the inter-boys' 3,000m A race and in the same age group Max Thomas (2.01.9) finished fourth after a strong run in the 800m A string, as did Craig Howard (1.09.9) in the 400m hurdles B string. Grace Baker came third in the junior girls' 1,500m A race.
Baker (1,500m), Clarke (1,500m), James (hammer), Stacey Clusker (1,500m) and Peter Henworth (pole vault) have all been selected to represent Sussex in the prestigious English Schools Championships in Sheffield on July 11-12 when they will compete against the country's elite junior athletes.
