Lee Richardson is in the Great Britain team for the Speedway World Cup opener on Monday July 14.
The St Leonards-based rider is part of a five-strong side which will take on Denmark, Sweden and Czech Republic at Coventry.

Manager Jim Lynch has gone for a team of Coventry track specialists and Richardson represented Coventry for 2000-2003.

Hastings-born British number two Edward Kennett is expected to come into the side for the race-off and/or final at Vojens, Denmark.

Kennett served up an encouraging performance on his full debut in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix ranks on Saturday night.

He scored four points from his five rides against the world's best in the British Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

Kennett, 21, cut back inside Krzysztof Kasprzak to claim third place in his opening ride behind 2006 World Champion Jason Crump and 2007 World Champion Nicki Pedersen.

Eastbourne Eagles ace Kennett then had two last place finishes, but led heat 16 for almost two laps before eventually having to settle for third ahead of Tomasz Gollob.

He rounded-off his evening with a fine second place in his final ride after overtaking Freddie Lindgren on the dash to the line in front of more than 40,000 fans.

Two-time Great Britain Under-21 Champion Kennett received a wildcard entry into the Sky Sports-televised event having been a reserve for the previous three years.
