Rye United, Sidley United and Bexhill United strengthened their promotion hopes with wins on Saturday.
Rye went back up to second in Division Two of the Sussex County Football League courtesy of a 1-0 win away to relegation threatened Southwick.

Danny Leach scored the all-important goal during the first half, but it needed a goalsaving tackle from Shaun Loft right at the end to make sure of Rye's ninth away league win out of nine.

Despite having four players suspended, Sidley triumphed 2-0 away to Storrington in the same division courtesy of first half goals from Josh Elliott-Noye and Allan McMinigal.

Bexhill consolidated their lead in Division Three on the back of a 4-2 success at Ifield Edwards. Ben White, Phil Rhodes, James Doswell and Dave Carey scored the goals.

Back in Division Two and Little Common suffered a 3-0 defeat away to leaders Loxwood, who got their promotion bid back on track after three successive losses.

And a brave comeback from 3-0 down after half-an-hour couldn't prevent Westfield losing 5-3 at home to Littlehampton Town. Martin Brain, Peter Baker and Matt Dadswell were on target.

Full reports on each of these games will appear in Friday's Observers.
