A couple's holiday plans are wrecked after an arsonist destroyed their caravan.
Sharon and Jason Hadley watched as flames engulfed their holiday home and all their camping equipment in a lay-by outside their home in Denham Road, Burgess Hill.

Fire service bosses confirmed that the attack late on Tuesday evening is arson and police are investigating.

The fire also wrecked the couple's trailer and two cars belonging to next door neighbours.

Sharon said: "It was definitely an arson attack. It can't be anything else. There is nothing in there that could have caused some sort of spontaneous combustion.

"We had some cylinders in there but there was no electricity in there at all. It was not possible to set a spark.

"We had left a window open. One of the faults with the c
aravan was that it had a musty smell, so we wanted to get some air in it.
"As far as I know we don't have any enemies. There is no reason for anyone to want to do this."
