Local artist displays work
A LOCAL artist who suffers from mild learning difficulties proved a hit at his first exhibition at The Martlets Hall in Burgess Hill.
As well as selling all his pieces on display including pottery, paintings and photography, Ian Terry also received commissions from members of the public.
The charity Circles Network is supporting Ian, from Burgess Hill, as he works towards his goal of becoming a self-employed artist.
Angela Butcher, regional co-ordinator of the Circles Network, said: "Ian funded the exhibition himself and it went really well.
"There was a great atmosphere and it was really busy. He is thinking of having another one and is hoping to get together with other artists."
Trisha Bender, Ian's mum, said: "I thought the day was brilliant and Ian is just so pleased with everything. It has been really great to get Ian involved with the community."
