Hastings Pier draws crowds on Bank Holiday weekend

Hastings Pier was a hive of activity once again as crowds of people poured into town for the Bank Holiday weekend.
With thousands of people visiting Hastings for the Jack in the Green celebrations and thousands more riding into town on the back of their motorbikes it was the sort of weekend when Hastings was crying out for a fully open pier.
However, despite the fact the majority of the Victorian attraction remains closed on health and safety grounds, the front section was still awash with tourists.
The Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust - a group hoping to one day take over ownership of the pier - had arranged a series of events for what traditionally is a bumper weekend.
These included a Morris dancing display on the Sunday afternoon and bike themed stalls throughout Monday.
According to organisers most local visitors to the pier took away a form to join the recently formed trust and a tombola raised £285 which will go into the fund's coffers.
Anyone who wants more information on the trust should visit www.hpwrt.co.uk or ring 07913664163.
