It seems Summer is well and truly over with weather experts predicting Hastings, Bexhill, Rye and Battle will all be battered by strong winds and heavy rain over the next few days.

One estimate is even saying 1066 Country could get two weeks worth of rain in just two days.

The storms have started already, with the MET Office issuing a severe weather warning for the area today (Friday) and warning people not to venture outside unless completely necessary.

Rain is meant to ease off slightly tomorrow before another huge downpour on Sunday which is set to leave Hastings, Bexhill, Rye, Battle and all the villages inbetween drenched.

This is bad news for local traders who will have been hoping for a bumper weekend as the region's busy Summer season begins to dip off.

It could also descimate the local sporting calendar with local parks football, village cricket and local hockey leagues facing a fixture list flooded with cancellations.
