Pestalozzi students took to the stage on Thursday night (February 9) for an outstanding evening of cultural dance and music.

Pestalozzi joined forces with students from Battle Abbey, Buckswood and Sedlescombe schools to provide a diverse and entertaining array of carefully choreographed performances at the annual Pestalozzi Cultural Fusion event.

The packed audience were delighted with the variety of entertainment.

Performances ranged from energetic Bhutanese, Nepalese, Indian, Chinese and African dances, to an African Gospel choir and traditional Tibetan guitar playing and song.

Audience member Councillor Bruce Dowling, said: “This was a truly wonderful night of cultural fun. Over the past years I have seen the Pestalozzi students perform on numerous occasions and can honestly say this was the best yet.

“Well done on putting on such a great show.”

Sue Walton, Pestalozzi’s CEO, said: “The performances were amazing and I would like to thank all those who made it such a success.

“There cannot be many events where one can see such a wide range of cultures represented and in today’s world it is important to show that there is real strength in diversity.”

James Bacon, Dundraising Officer, added: “The whole night went really well with over £1,000 being raised for Pestalozzi. I can’t wait to see what we have to offer next year.”
