A DISABLED man with one leg allegedly knocked a young boy over before stealing £10 of cash from him, police have revealed.

Officers are looking for witnesses to the incident, which took place on the dog walk footpath behind Greenfields, Wick, in which a disabled man in a mobility scooter stole cash from a 15-year-old boy.

It happened at around 5pm on Monday (July 20) when the boy, who was riding a bike, was bumped into by the man in a mobility scooter.

A police spokesman said: “The boy fell from his bike and as he did so, cash fell from his pocket. The man took a £10 note and made off.”

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 121 of 20/7.

Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, without having to leave their name, on 0800 555 111.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and bailed until August 26 while enquiries continue.
