The Ashburnham and Penhurst Gardening Club are having their annual plant sale at the Sports Pavilion tomorrow, May 10, 10a.m. - 12p.m. A wide variety of plants will be available from bedding plants to your vegetables.

2m@1 are meeting on May 12, 1pm at Ashburnham Church Hall, where Artist Viv Walkington gives a talk on ‘A splash of colour: Framed in Faith’. Viv, who teaches the Ashburnham Art Group, will give an art demonstration with her talk. Everyone is very welcome to join them.

M.I. are meeting on May 13, at the Ash Tree Inn, 8p.m. If you would like further information about the group, please contact Richard on 893130.

The next Coffee Morning is on Monday, May 19, in the Church Hall, Ashburnham Place 10.30am - 12pm. You are welcome to go along for a good friendly chat. For further information, please contact Tina on 01424 843728.

Ashburnham & Penhurst WI are meeting on Monday, May 19, 7.30pm at the Village Hall. They are planning a craft evening with a difference! The evening will include refreshments. WI members free, visitors £2. No need to book – just go along!

The next Village Lunch is on May 21, at Ashburnham Village Hall, 12.30p.m. Lunch is cooked every month for any older residents in the villages who would like a bit of company and a delicious meal. The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday, May 22, 9.50a.m. - 10.10a.m.

The Afternoon Book Group’s May gathering is on May 23, 2p.m. During May they will be reading ‘Boy A’, by Jonathan Trigell. The story is about a troubled 24 year old ex-offender. This book won the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, the Waverton Good Read Prize and the World Book Day ‘Books to talk about‘ Prize. Ashburnham Chapel are holding a coffee morning on May 26, 10.30a.m-12p.m. All are welcome to join them.

Ashburnham Chapel is celebrating 50 years at Ponts Green this year. On June 1, they are holding a 50th Anniversary Tea, 5 p.m. at the Chapel, followed by Songs of Praise. All are welcome to join the Chapel in their celebrations.
