On Sunday June 3 at 11.00 am there will be Thanksgiving Service for all the family held in the Marquee at Ashburnham Sports field, led by Revd Francis Cumberlege. (Please note there will be no service at St Peter’s on this Sunday.) They hope everyone will go and join them in this service of thanksgiving for our Queen on her Jubilee. Stay on afterwards too for a bring & share family picnic lunch on the recreation ground, before heading over to Penhurst later in the afternoon for a cream tea.

The next Coffee Morning is on Monday June 4 & 18 in the church hall, Ashburnham Place 10:30am - 12pm. You are welcome to go along for a good friendly chat. For further information, please contact Tina on 01424 843728.

The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday June 7 & 21, 9.50am - 10.10am.

The Ash Tree Inn Pub Quiz is Thursday June 7.Maximum team size 6, entry £1.00 per person. 7.45pm for 8pm Let the Ash know A.S.A.P. if you have a team, Food on the night £5 per head. Tel. 892104

2m@1 are meeting on June 11, 1-3pm with Tina Cumberlege talking about ‘The REAL Vicar’s wife’.

The MI Men are meeting on June 12 at the Ash Tree Inn, 8pm. If you are interested in joining, you are welcome to pop along.

Ashburnham and Penhurst Women’s Institute are having a birthday celebration on Monday June 18. They would like to invite all ladies in the villages – members and non-members alike – to join them for their celebration. They will be in the Orangery at Ashburnham Place from 7.30pm. Theylook forward to seeing you!

Ashburnham Village Lunch is on Wednesday June 20, 12.30pm at the Village Hall. Contact Janet Peters on 01424 892311 to book a place.

The next village book group session is at 2pm on Friday June 22. They’ll be talking about, Matt Haig’s, ‘The Possession of Mr Cave’. The book group gets together on the FOURTH Friday of each month. So, they will meet again on Friday July 27. They typically end up talking about several books and all sorts of topics. If you’d like to join them call Nicky on 892474.
