The Rye Branch of the WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) is taking books for the autumn term’s new courses for adult learners.

Lecturer David Derrington is returning to Rye with a fascinating 10-week course entitled ‘Schisms within Abrahamic Reilgions’, in which divisions within each of the Christian, Islamic and Jewish faiths are examined and, hopefully, understood.

The first two-hour weekly meeting is on Tuesday 1st October at Rye Art Gallery in the High Street with a 10.30am start.

Jackie White will be back with her ever popular and fun Practical Gardening course, which is being held at Udimore Village hall every Friday from 11am to 1pm starting 4th October.

And Burning Issues is a lively debate on current affairs hosted by David Alfred, which is held every second Tuesday of the month, between 1.30pm and 4.30pm at Tilling Green Community Centre, with a starting date of 10th October.

Creative Writing is held every third Tuesday of the month, between 1.30pm and 4.30pm at Tilling Green Community Centre, starting on 17th October.

This is a fun, friendly and rewarding course for everyone from beginners to people who have taken the plunge and already started writing.
