Whilst this may not affect you directly now -it will do. The deadline is 31st October. ESCC are consulting (again) on the free school bus service. They plan to save money by only providing free transport to your nearest secondary school starting in 2014 In Beckley’s case this is Rye .This means that those of you who would rather send your child to Robertsbridge will have to pay for the bus fares yourself (poss in region of £600 a year). This removes the element of choice for many and so it is vital that you get online and enter this link https://consultation.eastsussex.gov.uk/childrens-services/transport-provision-for-joint-community-areas
Click on “online survey” and fill it in with your views. Some feel that this is already a foregone conclusion but parent power has worked before so there is always hope or even maybe get them to provide an alternative such as only paying difference or freedom passes approx. £100 as they do in Kent. Please spare two minutes to fill it in and also to pass this on to anyone you know that is willing to help get our views across.
