Alastair Neil is the coordinator for the Bodiam Ride and Stride event on behalf of The Sussex Historic Churches Trust’s annual cycle ride around the churches of the county. If anyone would like to take part, please phone Alastair on 01580 830245 and get a sponsor form. Half of the money goes to your own parish church and the rest to SHCT.
I felt that South East Water was fair to credit our water accounts with £20 as the supply was not restored within 12 hours, but I do hope the businesses in Bodiam will get more.
The cricket club is away to Brede in September 8, with a 1pm start. There are three more fixtures to the end of the season and the start of the indoor cricket.
it was good to see many old friends at the Bodiam Church of England Primary School PTA funday and boot sale on the August Bank holiday Monday. People say it was not as good as last year, perhaps next year they should say to the PTA, they will sign up and help. The school is part of Bodiam and do remember the funday benefits the children and is also a big part of Bodiam village. I am sure the PTA will not say no, whether you have children at the school or not.
By the time you read this we will have a new family in 9 Levetts lane and hope we will all welcome them. Also the very best to Janet McDiarmid in her new home in Kent, and we see that Hunters Lodge is sold, I am sure we all hope it will not be weekend home.
