St Giles Church Coffee Morning: My sister Sandra and I went to the St Giles Church Coffee Morning, the other Saturday, at the Old Rectory, my sister won a large bottle of whiskey, I last saw Sandra five days ago! I must say a big thank you to Gordon our Vicar as when he draws the raffle my sister and I seem to win. Gordon will be outside Coral in Hastings on most Saturdays now and will be a great help to the many.

Cricket: The village Cricket Club are away to Alfriston on the 9th August with a start of 2 p.m.

Phyllis Landels: would like to thank the many who sent her cards and presents on her birthday. Next year will be the big one for her. Phyllis has a Hon Treasurer for next year it is Pam Marsh and Geoff Barden will be the Chairman but will need more help (as it will cost).

Hawkhurst Medical Practices: A lot of the village go to the two Hawkhurst Medical Practices, Wish Valley and North Ridge Surgeries and we hear talk of the two practices being combined under the same roof. Will this help patients? Yes, it could in some ways or is it about money? We must all know of people with bits missing and years ago this would not have happened, the NHS can never have enough money. It could be five years for all this to take place, finding a suitable site within reach of the patients of Hawkhurst and not forgetting the surrounding villages could prove difficult.
