Bodiam village voice

THE primary school PTA do work very hard for our school and the fun day on the August Bank Holiday does need a lot of support from staff and parents.

If anyone can help, please talk to the chairman or vice chairman of the PTA.

A big weekend for Bodiam on July 14/15. St Giles Church Flower Festival, said to be one of the best in Sussex, from 10am to 4.30pm both days. And on July 15, Levetts Lane Residents’ Association Fun Day at 2pm on the top green with tin can alley, face painting, tombola, golf and lots more. Donations of tombola and raffle prizes, also cakes for the refreshment stall, and anybody willing to help on the day would be gratefully received.

Claremont Senior School pupils would like the OAPs to come to a summer tea party on July 11. It will be in the school grounds, starting at 3.15pm and finishing at 5.15pm. Entertainment such as music and magic will be provided.

Congratulations to Donna and Garreth Willard of Levetts Lane on the birth of their daughter the other week. More for the pre-school and primary school we all hope.

Next fixture for the village cricket club is away to Winchelsea on June 8, 2.30pm start.

I was sorry I did not say anything about the John Towner Memorial fixture for Mr Bodiam Cricket on July 1, but I hope all went well.
