The Broad Oak Fire Fighters had their Charity car wash on Saturday 16 March. They were kept busy despite the rain, which made them cold and wetter than ever. They managed to raise the healthy sum of £200 for their Fire Fighters Charity.

As so many people have gone down with coughs it has prompted me to put in this recipe, which is tried and tested and does cure chesty coughs and is completely safe. Place in a pint Pyrex jug 12 sprigs or a good handful of Thyme add 2 tablespoons of Honey and 1 pint of boiling water. Infuse for 10 minutes then strain and decant into a flask. As hot as you can take it by the sherry glass, gargle and swallow. It may take more than 1 flask if you are really unwell. The Honey is soothing and the Thyme is an antiseptic. Good luck!

The Rye & District National Trust have informed me they are organising a VIP tour of the Pompeii and Herculaneum Exhibition and other galleries of the British Museum.
