Update on the Diamond Jubilee Bench and Photo Book. Firstly, the Bench. Thanks to the Parish Council, Rother District Council and donations from members of the public, it has been able to purchase a commemorative oak bench. This has been designed and made by Chris Allum here in Broad Oak. It will be located on the Recreation Ground and the Jubilee Committee would like to invite all to the official first “sitting” and photo opportunity on Sunday, September 9, at 1.00 pm. You will be quite welcome to stay on for the cricket when Bodiam will be the visitors. The Photo Book is currently being put together and will include a wide variety of pictures of local people, some of the scarecrows, decorations in the village, some of the events that took place and even a Jubilee sheep. If you still have to send in your photo please do so as soon as possible or you can contact Bruni Llovet on 01424-883548 or e-mail bruni.llovet@brede.org.uk for further information.
