A big thank you to everyone who came along to the Soup Lunch at the village hall last Thursday, we had a really enjoyable time. 46 diners enjoyed tasting some of the home made soups and many naughty but nice desserts. Thank you to all those who gave prizes for the raffle which raised £110 and the tombola which took £37. After expenses we made £378-30 for the village hall maintenance funds.
During the lunch we surprised my parents Eileen & Ted Craddock with flowers, a bottle of port & a cake as they were celebrating 66 years of marriage, Congratulations to them both.
Also during the event I was awarded a thank you badge & certificate by Jackie Ashdown on behalf of the Brownies, for my help with the christmas card delivery service for the last ten years. A lovely surprise but no thanks needed, this is something I enjoy doing.

The Burwash short mat bowls club have come to the end of another season in the Wealden league division one. It has been a tough season which saw us struggling to find our usual form. After some pleasant matches we alas finished second from the bottom and will be relegated to division 2 next season. It has been good to welcome some new members to the club this season. Christine & John Norton, Beverley & Alan Green and Keith Marden. They have all settled in really well and are making their presence felt in the team already. We are always pleased to welcome new members. We play on Monday evenings from 6.30pm and have matches on Thursdays. If you would like to have a go at this friendly, social sport why not come along, or call Mary taylor on 01435 882107 for more information.
