Coffee Morning: Hurry along to Gwen’s famous Coffee Morning today from 9am – 12 noon at Glebe Cottages. This is her annual fund raiser for Macmillan Cancer Support whilst taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Enjoy a chat with friends and the most wonderful meringues you’ve ever tasted and help raise lots of money for this worthy charity.
Harvest Party: St. Laurence Sunday School are having a Harvest Party in Catsfield Village Hall tomorrow, Saturday 27th September from 3.30 - 5.00 pm
All are welcome. We do not have facilities for unaccompanied children, but do make excellent tea and cake for the adults!
Catsfield WI: The next meeting of the Catsfield WI will be on Thursday 2nd October at 2.30pm in the Village Hall. The speaker will be Mel Rees giving a talk with the intriguing title of ‘Brought to Book Too – That’s Life’. Come along and find out what it’s all about, friends and visitors are always welcome at our meetings. The competition is for ‘An Autumnal arrangement’
Sports News: Our football team put in a much better performance in their 2 - 2 draw last week against Northiam at home. Nigel Champion and Dave Booth scored our goals, but unfortunately there was also a sending-off resulting in a penalty for hand ball, which was saved by Dan Champion. Tomorrow we are playing a cup game against Herstmonceux at home, kick off 2.30pm. The Playing Field was delighted to play host to the Ninfield stoolball team on Sunday when their own ground was unavailable.
Harvest Supper: Don’t forget there will be a traditional Harvest Supper in the Village Hall on Saturday 4th October at 7pm for 7.30pm. Please buy your tickets NOW they cost £7.50 each and include a complimentary glass of wine. There will be a bar available and a Grand Raffle in aid of Demelza Hospice Care. Harvest Festival: The following day, Sunday 5th October, the celebration of Harvest Festival will take place in the parish church of St Laurence at 9.15am. Gifts of produce, flowers, tins of food etc to decorate the church and to distribute afterwards to the needy, will be gratefully received on the previous morning.
