Classic cars will be lining up on Hooe Recreation Ground on Sunday August 2 when Hooe’s Old Motor Club holds its annual show.

The show, which is in its 46th

year, is now recognised and acclaimed in the National Motoring Press.

There are classes for cars from the turn of last century until 1970. One will see cars that do not normally appear at other shows.

Organiser Chris Hone said: “Informed commentary is provided in the main ring on the various vehicles together with the prestigious “lady and car” competition in which ladies dress to match the age and spirit of the car.

“There will be a plethora of stalls, not all motoring related, refreshments and musical entertainment provided by The Hooe Silver Band.

“There will be plenty going on for a great day out. Admission, which includes a programme, is £5 for adults (Children under 16 free). Car parking in the new improved car park is free.

Money raise from the event is distributed amongst local charities.

Hooe’s Old Motor Club was formed in January 1972 when 12 members started the ball rolling.

The club has grown from 12 to nearly 150 members and meets every month except January when meetings are held either in the Hooe Village Hall or at outside venues in the summer on the first Friday of each month where possible. More details can be found at www.hooeoldmotorclub.org.uk.
