RYE’S Tilling Green Community Centre will be joining in the celebrations when the town holds its big bonfire night on Saturday night.

The centre, on Mason Road, is where the procession forms up on Saturday and people are invited to come along from 5pm to get in the mood before the procession sets off.

Everyone is welcome at the centre, the café will be open, offering hot food and drinks, sit in or take away.

There will be a performance from Rye College Drumming Group Bloco, face painting, a beer stand, children’s activities and more.

The event is being organised by Tilling Green Resident’s Association and Rye Town Amateur Boxing Club.

Dan Lake, from the Resident’s Association, said: “The centre acts as a meeting place for groups taking part in the procession, which generates a great atmosphere for the start of this night of celebrations.

“Everyone is welcome to come along and join us from 5pm until the procession leaves the estate.”

The procession sets off at 7.15pm.
