Detectives investigating reported sexual assaults on a pupil at a Hurst Green prep school want to hear from any other pupils or members of staff who were also there at the time.

The assaults are said to have been committed by a member of teaching staff against a boy, then aged under 16, who was a pupil at the since-closed Boarzell preparatory school in the late 1960s.

The school closed more than 40 years ago.

The investigation is at an early stage and no arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Michael Pearson said: “We would like to hear from anyone connected with the school during that period, and who may be able to help us build up a picture of what happened, especially if they still have access to any records or other material relating to the school then.

“If you can help please contact us via [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 1456 of 03/10.

“Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
