A WOMAN, who was wanted by Kent Police, was arrested after she tried to enter Sussex in a stolen car.
The vehicle set off an Automatic Number Plate Recognition camera as it travelled through Hurst Green on the A21 at 7.30pm on Tuesday (August 23).
The camera alerted Sussex Police that the vehicle had been stolen.
Two special constables from the force stopped the car and arrested the driver on suspicion of vehicle theft.
She has been taken back to Kent where she will be questioned over the theft and an assault matter.
Sergeant Paul Masterson, of Battle’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said the incident highlighted the good work carried out by special constables.
