RYE International Jazz Festival will be hitting the right note with music crazy youngsters by offering a free Drum, Bass and Fusion Masterclass.
It takes place at Rye Community Centre on Thursday August 22 from 7pm - 9pm.
The event, sponsored by the Fairlight Arts Trust, combines the immense talents of drummers Ralph Salmins and Jamie Murray and the bass of Alex Lofoco and will provide an interesting insight to a complete range of bass and drumming techniques.
London-based drummer and percussionist Ralph Salmins is one of the world’s most in-demand drummers and has worked with many of the big names including Gloria Gaynor, Van Morrison, Lulu, Georgie Fame and many others. Ralph has gone on to win numerous awards and polls, including Best Drummer in the British Jazz Awards.
He is joined by two bright young stars of the music scene drummer Jamie Murray and bassist Alex Lofoco to demonstrate a wide range of drumming and bass techniques and how these two vitally important components of any band work in harmony together.
Free admission to under 16’s and £8 for adults. Children under 12 are very welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.
