PUPILS from Guestling Bradshaw School flew the flag for Team GB when they took part in a recent Olympic themed athletic event organised by Rye College.

Following a colourful opening ceremony where teams presented their chosen country’s flags, pupils were placed in teams alongside children from other schools in the Rye Cluster, including schools from Rye, Winchelsea, Playden and Peasmarsh.

Each skills activity was run and scored capable students from Rye College.

Kate Tugwell from Guestling Bradshaw, said: “Guestling pupils participated enthusiastically and many were rewarded with Olympic wrist bands representing the Olympic values.

“Having taken part, scores and times were calculated to award bronze, silver and gold medals in each class. “Several pupils across the school were also awarded overall gold medal winners.

“Aidan Aspinall in year 6 won the best time of the week for his running race. This was a fantastic event and will definitely become an Olympic memory for the children as they grow up.
