David and Sally Young have recently visited them to give them a memento of their days in Staplecross. This was a painting of Staplecross by Glenys Griffiths with the money raised prior to the Zaks farewell gathering when so many people went to the village hall to say fond farewells and wish them well in a new life in their homeland.

While in Krakow, David and Sally visited Kia’s grave to lay flowers. Kia, as many will remember with great sadness, was brutally murdered while using her summer vacation to work in an art gallery in Krakow.

Pauline of our local drama group is always interested to hear from anyone who wishes to tread the boards or to help backstage. The planning of the January pantomime is now in its infancy and anyone wishing to help in any capacity should ring 830570.

Ewhurst, Staplecross and Bodiam Garden Society will be holding the annual Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show on Saturday September 8 at 2pm in Staplecross Village Hall.

A reminder that there will be no Pilates next Tuesday July 31 or on August 7. Classes will restart on August 14, usual time of 5pm in Staplecross village hall.
