Fire at Fairlight substation tackled by firefighters

Firefighters put out a fire at a substation in Fairlight this morning (Tuesday, March 22).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to reports of smoke issuing from the substation and two appliances from Hastings were mobilised to Meadow Way at around 11.05am.

Crews used a CO2 extinguisher to extinguish the fire.

The area was made safe and the incident left in the hands of UK Power Networks.
