GALLERY: Medieval festival at Battle of Hastings re-enactment

English Heritage’s Battle of Hastings re-enactment returned to 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11.

Hundreds of re-enactors from across the UK and France, fought on the battlefield along with the horses of the Norman cavalry.

With the wood smoke drifting from the white tented encampments the scene was set for the epic clash that defined English history.
