ICKLESHAM fund-raiser Kate Mylrae has been honoured by the Olympic Committee for her heroic charity efforts.
Kate, who runs Manor Farm Oast guest house, has raised thousands of pounds for charities and good causes over the years.
She is a regular participant in the London Moonwalk event and has also held garden parties and dinners at Icklesham for the RNLI.
Her latest effort has involved raising more than £3,000 for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity by power-walking 2012 kilometres in the space of ten months.
Kate was in the top 16 of 105,000 UK fund-raisers.
Her work was recognised when she was invited to Team GB House, at the Olympics site in Stratford, East London, to be presented with a special edition Gold Medal by the Gold Challenge Team.
She received the award from high jump athlete Dalton Grant and Paralympic runner Noel Thatcher.
Kate commented: “It was an amazing experience and I would like to thank everyone who has supported me.”
