Kate Mylrea from Manor Farm Oast in Icklesham successfully completed the Pink Ribbon Walk from Leeds Castle.

The Pinkribbon Walk, now in its 10th year raises funds for Breast Cancer Care.

Kate said: “The walk was particularly hard as the route was cross country, climbing steep hills, bean fields and trekking through deep mud in the wooded areas.

The extreme heat from the afternoon sun increased the effort needed to finish.”

Kate completed the challenge in four hours.

So far, through a successful quiz night. Almost £400 has been raised.

An annual garden party planned for this weekend, looks set to increase the total to £800.

The garden party, in aid of Breast Cancer Care, takes place on Sunday from noon - 3pm at Manor Farm Oast, Workhouse Lane, just off the A259.

There will be live music from Ricochet as well as a raffle and a treasure hunt.

Admission is £6 per person, which includes a ploughman’s lunch and a glass of wine or a soft drink.

Kate said: “Please come along on Sunday and support a much valued charity.
