Battle Memorial Hall will hold its annual general meeting on June 20.

The meeting will take place in the Shepherd Room, starting at 7.30pm.

As well as covering the necessary, formal business, including reports from the chairman and treasurer, it is also an opportunity for all those with an interest in the hall, particularly regular users, to tell the management committee what they would like to see changed or improved.

The management committee meets monthly and is made up of a combination of elected members and representatives of those groups who use the hall and its facilities.

As the hall is a subject to charitable status, committee members are also trustees of and collectively responsible for every aspect of the hall’s activities, including setting objectives and long-term plans and overseeing day-to-day activity.

Individually, trustees can bring specific skills and experience such as financial management, marketing and building maintenance which can contribute to the overall operation of the hall.

The committee is always looking to strengthen the team and is keen to hear from anyone interested in the management of the hall.

To find out more about becoming a trustee, please contact hall manager Amy Cornish or go to the meeting.

The regular upkeep of the building also presents its challenges and the committee would like to hear from anyone who could act as a caretaker on a voluntary basis, helping with planned maintenance or responding to emergency call outs.
