ST MICHAEL’S Hospice Open Gardens programme re-opens for the new season on Tuesday (May 6).
The scheme offers a rare opportunity to explore the secrets of hidden and private gardens not usually open to the public.
This year’s St Michael’s Hospice Open Garden programme boasts a spectacular list of gardens of all shapes and sizes throughout Hastings and Rother.
Feed your curiosity with more than 50 beautiful gardens to explore, bursting with colour and inspiration for all garden lovers.
Mountfield Court at Johns Cross, will kick-start the season on Tuesday, 10.30am-4pm, where visitors will have the opportunity to explore this three acre garden, filled with camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas and bluebells.
This garden also offers outstanding views and walks, with attractive topiary trees.
Sally Beresford, community fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “The Open Garden season is an important event on the St Michael’s Hospice calendar, as it raises awareness around the services we offer throughout the whole of our catchment area, whist raising much needed funds”.
“We are so grateful to everyone who generously opens their gardens, to the many volunteers who freely give their time, to Athelas Plants, the booklet sponsors and to everyone who supports us by visiting the gardens.”
The season runs from May to October with most of the gardens opening during the summer months on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays,
Admission ranges from £4 to £5 per garden.
Open garden gift vouchers are also available.
A £20 voucher entitles the holder to visit five gardens free of charge and allows the holder to have one free meal deal at the garden of their choice.
