This weekend Icklesham Parish Church holds the ‘’Craft and Hobbies’’ Flower Festival and Art Exhibition. The Church is at the Winchelsea end of Icklesham and if you are not from the village this whole weekend is a beautiful way of relaxing.

Times are Saturday 22 June 10am - 5pm

Sunday 23 June 11am -5pm .At 10am there is a ‘’Songs of Praise’’ service when favourite hymns will be sung amongst the floral arrangements and the work of local artists.

In the Memorial Hall - 25 metres away -there will be demonstrations of Patchwork,Lace making and Spinning along with refreshments including Ploughman’s Lunches and Cream Teas. Cakes,cards and plants will be on sale, plus the ever popular tombola. There is parking both at the Church and on the Recreation Ground next to the Hall. For children there is a great playground and Zip Wire.

Everybody is most welcome at this very sociable and friendly occasion. Any donations will help restore the Church Tower, This outstanding local landmark dates from 1170 and the work needed is extensive and costly.

The Five Villages house has a Sunday Lunch Club who hold a Sunday Roast on alternate Sundays and many residents and friends already enjoy the meal and the company.

The Club would like to invite all who are 60+ and their family members/friends to join them.

The next roast is Sunday 30 June at 12.30. The Chef Diana cooks a roast dinner, pudding or cheese and biscuits plus tea or coffee all for the amazing price of £6.50.

Sample menus

Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding,horseradish sauce served with fresh seasonal vegetables and roast potatoes. Banoffee Pie or Cheese and biscuits, Tea or Coffee.

Roast Chicken with seasoning & bread sauce seasonal vegetables roast potatoes. Meringue nest with Strawberries & Cream or Cheese & Biscuits, Tea or Coffee.
