Monday 6 January the twelfth day of Christmas when traditionally Christmas decorations are taken down.

Icklesham’s businesses return to normal.

The revised day for recycling is Wednesday 8 and only black bins. Christmas cards can be recycled in green boxes. Rother cannot recycle cards that have glitter,plastic or foil on them. When the green wheelie bins are collected again on Tuesday 14 Christmas trees can be put in them as long as the lid can be closed and the thickness of wood is no more than 10cm.

The A259 has roadworks planned to start on Monday 6 January.The work is between the junction with Harbour Road in Rye and the junction with Hiham Gardens in Winchelsea.The work should take approximately 5 weeks and take place between 8pm and 6am. The work includes resurfacing, carriageway remarking, reinstallation of studs, tree removal and other essential repairs. Overnight the lay-bys will be closed.

Tuesday 7 January 10-12 in the Memorial Hall the first meeting of the year for the Icklesham Art Group now with expert hints and advice. All very friendly and catering for beginners as well as the accomplished.

Wednesday 8 January Short Mat Bowls in the Memorial Hall 3-5pm and 7-9pm. If you have played or you like to learn go along and enjoy the friendly company.

2014 Icklesham is so fortunate to have its shops and pubs. Let’s keep it that way. “Use It Or Lose It”.
