Today,Friday 4 April, there is a Lent Lunch in the Memorial Hall from 12.30 till 2.00 pm. The meal is homemade soup,bread, a choice of cheese and drink. plus a good time to meet and have a chat. Everyone is welcome. There is no charge but you can make a donation to the chosen charity of the day which is the Royal British Legion. Last week £105.50 was raised for The Fishermen’s Society
Tomorrow, Saturday 5 April,Icklesham Horticultural Society has its Spring Flower Show in the Memorial Hall opening at 2.00pm. As well as the flower and cookery classes there is also an Arts and Crafts section. There is also competition for the prestigious home made compost cup kindly sponsored by Kate and Syd Mylrea of Manor Farm Oast. After you have enjoyed the flowers why not stay for a cup of tea or coffee and ty your luck at the tombola or the raffle.

Saturday 12 April the Easter Craft Fair 10.00am to 2.30pm in the Memorial Hall. Four different crafts including a lady who makes delicious fresh curries which can be tasted and her book is available too. In addition to the Crafts there is an Easter Egg tombola with proceeds to the New Pavilion Fund. Refreshments will be on sale. The Hall is just off the A259 next to the Recreation Ground with plenty of free parking and a children’s playground.

Last week’s Quiz Night raised £320 for the New Pavilion Fund. Stuart Bake says “Well Done” to Icklesham Casuals F.C. and all those who took part. He thanks everybody who donated raffle prizes and who bought tickets. He especially thanks Charlotte and Emma for their help. 13 teams took part with One Out All Out the overall winners closely followed by Empty Heads, TW Group, Nobby’s Nuts, 30 Somethings, Casualties, Saints and Sinners and Allsorts. The next Quiz is the last of the season and is on Saturday 26 April.
At the Quiz Night Mrs Janet Pegg drew the month’s winners in the New Pavilion Lottery. Icklesham Stores do not stand still. A new loyalty card has started and you save while you spend and also are in a free draw to win a hamper. The cards are available in the shop. Now the process of making an application for a licence to sell alcohol has started.
Easter Sunday 20 April and our Parish Church will be beautifully decorated with traditional Easter Lilies. All are invited to remember a Loved One who has passed away by donating a Lily in that person’s memory. The Lilies are £2 each and the dedications will be recorded by the Lilies at the Altar.
