On Easter Sunday the Parish Church was beautiful and was a great credit to all those who had contributed. Sunday 27 April 10.30 Morning Prayer followed by the Annual Church Meeting.
The Easter Craft Fair saw the Memorial Hall full of interesting stalls all bursting with unusual crafts. The Easter Egg tombola raised £100 for the New Pavilion Fund. This would not have been possible without the overwhelming response so thank you to all who made a donation.. The Craft Fairs have to date raised over £2000 for Hall funds. Thanks to everyone who came and supported the Fairs.
Among the stars was “the Curry Lady” with her tasters of delicious healthy fat free curry and the “stir crazy ladies “selling their wares for the British Heart Foundation.
Sunday 27 April 4-6 The Queens Head live music is the Acoustic Blues of Bagge & Armer.
In 2013 Icklesham Casuals Football Club celebrated their 75 years by raising £7500 for the charities which the club decided to Support. Dave Minnet, who played for the Casuals for many years,received a cheque on behalf of one of those charities Charity4 Kids. Nicole, Dave’s 17 year old granddaughter, has been helped by this Charity which helps sick and terminally ill children in Sussex. So on Saturday 21 June 2014 Nicole will be doing a Skydive. She will also be making a donation to aid research into Neurofibromatosis (a condition which affects Nicole ) and Scieroderma. Saturday 26 April is busy!
The Church Market 11am -2pm light lunches,coffees and teas in beauty of All Saints with its Easter Lilies and other flower arrangements. There will be a cake stall,jam,marmalade,handmade cards, bric-a-brac etc and a very friendly atmosphere.
The Robin Hood Bonfire Society Annual Party for over 60s starts at 2 in the Memorial Hall. The always most generous hosts provide lovely food,drink and entertainment. Phone Sue on 01424 814277 as quickly as you can to book your place.
Quiz Night starts at 7.30 in the Memorial Hall, This is the last in another successful season.
Sunday 27 April “Smile Boys! That’s the Style” is a variety show with a Great War theme produced jointly by the Icklesham Players and Acting Up Rye. Sign up at 2pm in the Hall,( Icklesham’s War Memorial).If you can’t make it and are interested contact Nicky 01424 812996. The performances are Icklesham 11 & 12 July and Rye 18 & 19 July.

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May Charles and Jo Sandemann-Allen are opening their garden at Knockbridge as part of the National Garden Scheme from 11 till 5. The teas and cakes are being organised in aid of the New Pavilion Fund.
Saturday 17 May The May Fair run by the Social Committee of the Parish Church. It is an all day event in the Memorial Hall.The usual Church Market stalls plus many extras.
Saturday 31 May 7pm at Manor Farm Oast Kate and Syd Mylrea,as part of their fund raising for Breast Cancer Care, have a Dual Quiz.. One part is general knowledge with written questions and the other part is a picture quiz.There will be an entrance fee of £7 per person, but that will get you a buffet and a glass of wine/soft drink.Ther will also be a payment bar. A prize for top individual and top team. Weather can’t be guaranteed so numbers have to be limited so get your team together and book a place. On Sunday 6 July there will be a Garden Party for the same charity.
Saturday 7 June. Icklesham Toddler Group are hosting an 80s Disco Night in the Memorial Hall from 7.30pm. Fancy Dress is optional and bring your own drink.All money raised will be going to the New Pavilion Fund.Tickets are Adults £5 and children under 12 £2.Tickets are available from Icklesham Village stores or organiser Jane Gillard 01424 814378.If anyone can donate any raffle prizes either contact Jane or pop into the Toddler group on Wednesday mornings in the Memorial Hall 10.15 - 11.45am.
Saturday 2 August Icklesham’ s Icklesham’s Annual Fete and Flower Show. Plans are underway . If you have any ideas or would like to get involved the Trust Committee would be delighted to hear from you.
Icklesham Horticultural Society’s Spring Show impressed everybody especially the Judge. Even though daff0dils seem to have been out for quite a while, there were still enough to make masses of colour.
Well done to the trophy winners. Joan Butler won the Janette & John Ireland Cup for most points in the Daffodil and Tulip section; Ann , the Horticultural Society Cup for the mixed flower section; Eric Butler, the Compost Cup kindly sponsored by Kate & Syd Mylrea; Eve Ovenden,the Felstead Cup for best exhibit in Arts & Craft and the Beast in Show Cup; Judy Foster , Cup for most points in show and certificate for best in flower section and Sharon Sellens for best in Cookery section.
