The big event this weekend will be the return visit of the Navarra Quartet to play music by Haydn, Mendelssohn, and Schubert. All Saints Church, Iden is the perfect place for a Spring Concert in its beautiful location with wonderful acoustic. Tickets are £15 and they may be purchased from Gill Clamp, telephone 01797 22 32 43 or Michael Miller 01797 280 304.
Over the last two years the Quartet has increasingly developed its international profile, appearing at major festivals and venues throughout Europe, Russia, the USA, Bahrain and Australia.
The organisers are delighted that they are able to fit a return to Iden into their high profile engagements.
On the same day, in the Old Hall, there will be an exhibition of paintings by Martin Bradshaw. This will be open from 11 am to 7 pm.
Iden Parish Council will next meet on Tuesday 1st May in Iden Village Hall, starting at 7 pm. This will be followed immediately by the Annual Parish Meeting. All residents should have received a short annual report from the council, at the same time inviting them to attend the Annual Meeting. It is hoped that this will be more of a social occasion, rather than a formal meeting. Representatives of the police and local organisations should be present and willing to answer questions and talk about their particular interests. Refreshments will be served. Please make a note and determine to attend. The council would like to see as many villagers as possible there, after all it is YOUR village.
The Mobile Library will be at the village hall on Monday from 12.05 to 12.45.
The 9.30 am service will be Parish Communion led by the vicar.
