Brighter future if are out of EU

Facts are invariably inconvenient: our Protection of Animals Act 1911 predates the EU (Keith Taylor, 15/4/16); the Vote-Leave leaflet is factually correct while the '˜Stronger In' and Cameron's £9m sound-bites and semantics are easily exposed!

An important maxim in statistics is ‘compare like with like’.

Cameron compares ‘only 8 per cent’ of EU exports to Britain (making Britain their second/third largest export destination) to 44 per cent of UK exports to 27 EU members (they are not, yet, one nation)!

Fact: 80 per cent of Britain’s exports go to just 19 countries, led by America (14 per cent), Germany (11 per cent), France (eight per cent).

Only seven are in the EU, making trade with the 20 other EU members insignificant.

The majority of exports (56 per cent) go to 160-plus nations which all trade and live in peace with the EU without being in its political Customs Union.

The EU once took 56 per cent of British exports, but through its stagnating Eurozone this is fast approaching the equivalent 35 to 40p er cent before we joined the EEC, for which pleasure Britain sacrificed our 30 per cent Commonwealth trade.

Cameron boasts 500 million (potential) EU customers – yet the growing economies are China (1,300 million), India (1,200 million), Africa (450 million), USA (320 million).

EU Customs Union rules forbid us independently making beneficial free trade deals, yet Norway and Switzerland easily negotiated 46 apolitical FTAs, including Canada.

Fact: Britain’s economy, GDP, Sterling, interest rates, unemployment have all fluctuated wildly throughout 45 years of EEC/EU membership, so the ‘scary economic dangers’ lie not in Brexit, but the calibre of our politicians!

Don’t forget, the Lisbon Treaty accelerates the EU Commission’s push for a single, federated socialist EU state, quashing democracy through QMV.

Britain’s nine per cent voice is, by design, outnumbered!

Cameron urges ‘remain in his reformed EU’ but which distances Britain from core EU principles, pushing us closer to the Norway model... which he rejects!

His leaflet is silent on urgently needed EU reforms; worse, he is not seeking re-election – and Jeremy Corbyn won’t campaign for Cameron’s reforms for he seeks only full-blown socialism – In or Out!

Ironically, Cameron’s leaflet’s final photo shows a happy young family walking towards a brighter (Brexit) future! Eu-revoir EU!
