Let empty homes to young families

RE: EMPTY houses in Ferry Road, Rye.

The situation in Ferry Road is disgraceful for at least two reasons:-

Perfectly good empty houses, even with the occasional rat, are arguably more attractive than those with windows and doors boarded up using ugly steel sheeting, causing planning blight.

With the proposed supermarket many months, if not years, away, the houses could be let out free to some of the hundreds of young local families searching for reasonable housing.
