Move is a big blow to walkers

My family and I fancied a nice walk last week and drove down to the old tram stop at Rye Harbour and planned to walk over the golf course to Camber Sands.

However, we were very disappointed to find that parking there is now restricted to golf club members only which was pointed out to us on arrival ‘for future reference’.

This is a big blow to walkers as there is nowhere else to park on that side of the channel apart from way back on the main road where space is very limited.

Surely the Golf Club has its own car park near the main building – do they need this one as well?

We also noticed that the footpath is a ‘permissive’ one and we are wondering if the Golf Club members eventually wish to exclude walkers from this footpath over their land.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me?
